Prudential Spirit of Community Awards

The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program is the United States' largest youth recognition program based exclusively on volunteer community service.
Get involved serving your community and receive national recognition for outstanding volunteer service or significant leadership in a group or activity.

Each year a student from Caddo Magnet High School is nominated as the top youth volunteer for state-level honors.  The school’s honoree will receive the President’s Volunteer Service Award and will become eligible to win an unrestricted award of $1000 or more, a beautifully engraved medallion, and an all-expense-paid trip with a parent or guardian to Washington, D.C., next spring for four days of special recognition events.

In addition, Caddo Magnet High School will recognize top applicants for their volunteer service by presenting them with Prudential Spirit of Community Award certificates.

2017-2018 Award Recipient

Olivia Davis, a senior at Caddo Parish Magnet High School, was chosen as a Distinguished Finalist. Olivia started an initiative in 2015 that has created and donated treat-filled “chemo kits” for more than 600 people undergoing cancer treatment. Inspired by her late aunt, who started a cancer-fighting nonprofit after being treated for breast cancer, Olivia collects selected items and monetary donations for her care packages and hosts a volunteer kit-packing day during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  To learn more about Olivia's work, click here
