Summer Internship Program

posted Mar 3, 2020, 11:06 AM by Kesha Simmons

Shreve Memorial Library is looking to hire 35 high schools students for our Summer Internship Program.  This is a paid internship program where students can earn $7.25/hour and work at one of the Shreve Memorial Library branches located throughout the parish or at the Support Services Center.  This is a fantastic opportunity for students to gain valuable work experience as well as training opportunities, including customer service training and spending time in the departments “behind the scenes” at the Support Services Center  Students will also be able to spend time on our mobile library and tour many of the library branches.

We are accepting applications through Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at our website employment page:  https://shrevelib.applicantpro.com/jobs/.

The program is open to students who meet the following requirements:

·        Will be 16 by March 18, 2020

·        Still enrolled in high school

·        Have a 2.0 GPA or better

·        Not be a graduate of high school when the internship program begins on May 28, 2020

Attached you will find three different announcements for the various types of positions as well as a flyer advertising the program for you to post at your school.  We will be hiring two interns at each of our twelve full-time branches, located in Shreveport and Vivian.  These positions will allow a student to work up to 150 hours.  We will be hiring one intern for each of our part-time branches located outside of the Shreveport city limits, in the small towns and villages in the parish.  These positions will allow a student to work up to 100 hours.  And finally, we are hiring two interns at our Support Services Center, where the student will be able to work up to 150 hours.

We appreciate your assistance in getting the word out to your students about the great summer job opportunity.  Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions.   Thank you!
